“It’s Boots SPECIAL Day; he can do whatEVER he wants…”

Maggie got me thinking about this with All the talk about “hoses” aside….

Watching a children’s fire truck DVD, and the truck says, “I’m so big. While these men are up in my basket, two firefighters are working on me down below.”

At some genetic level, I’m incapable of silencing the part of my brain that adds dirty subtext¹ to my daughter’s DVDs.

There’s a Little Einsteins video where the youngest girl says something like “Little Red Train is miiighty strong…”

Three years I’ve been hearing that line; still – every time – I respond “… and he’s a TOMcat in the sack.”

Someone tell me I’m not alone in this – what’s a kid’s video you invariably process the WRONG way?

¹ – Is it even subtext when you say it out loud? Maybe it’s just… text.

Did one round of our bowling today left-handed; it was the last game, and it reset my handedness perception – everything feels backwards. #

Sprinklers repaired – going to run them tonight. Is it sad that this excites me? Seriously, I might sit outside just to watch ’em. #

Watched too many DVR’d season finales this week; dreamt cliffhangers all night. (Also, about 9/11, which is less fun than it sounds.) #
Spent the whole day working in the yard. Treating ourselves to Miyama of Colorado, which is like Benihana, but good. Delicious, actually. #

Less than 2% of the users on Twitter used the “show @ replies to people I don’t know” option. Apparently those are the loud, bitchy 2%. #
One annoying affect of this change: people convinced followers NEED to see stranger-replies are making them “mentions” & tripling twitnoise. #
Reposting publically, since I just got reply- and DM-mobbed: I was referring to @Scalzi, singularly and solely. Further, he can take it. #
PR @exedore6 Fair point. Ev’s been saying for a year it was a big point of user confusion (http://is.gd/fNw) – perhaps an ‘expert setting’? in reply to exedore6 #
