Another Online Obsession?

Right. Don’t know if Doyce ever saw this or not, but a quick perusal of the “Geeky Fan Boy” archive yielded no hits.
Those that know me know I was involved in the AI Online Game that went on in 2001. They know because I wouldn’t stop talking about it and the Cloudmakers and whatnot.
Thanks to the Cloudmakers site (which I hadn’t visited since the game) I just found out that ABC created an Alias Online Adventure Game last year, where players pretend to join the CIA and solve puzzles on the Internet. It seems to have a good following and is still going strong.
Not like Doyce needs another obsession in his life, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention it, at least.

Hoo-ha

Angel: Season One — out on DVD today.
Meanwhile, we’re off to see ‘The Complete History of America (abridged)’ by the Reduced Shakespeare Company (looks like three guys).
1. No one has killed each other yet.
2. I fried the charger for my Palm. Fried. Smoked. Many words that should happen to fish and not electronics.
3. Rain. Rain. Also British museum and lots of pictures of dead people.
God save the Queen. That is all.

And this looks kind of cool…

Also from the ABC site, Alias: Online Adventure — which looks like some sort of cheap knock-off of the ‘interactive real-time’ games that were starting up last year (after the AI promo started it) and then sort of dropped off the map in seconds.
I haven’t messed with this yet, so no bets on whether it’s incredibly lame, kinda cool, or both.

Time Wasting, now with guns!

You can download Alias Underground from the ABC site. The game is basically a cheaper (looking), less-sophisticated Tomb Raider interface.
Upside1: downloadable missions continue to be added, and all seem to be based off of actual scenes from the show.
Upside2: Voice acting is all done by the actual actors from the show, which means you get even more sound bytes from Marshall. Bonus!
Downside: Did I mention the poorly done graphics and simplistic interface?
Still, IMO, it’s worth it just to hear Marshall during the training episode.
