Not seeing (yet?) any changes from last fall's change.
Yes. I undid those changes when they first rolled out, via the chrome://flags window. Google has now disabled the ability to disable those changes.
Ah.
I honestly have never used any of the new tab functionality, old or new, so it's never really bugged me.
It's the GIGANTIC screen-eating Google logo and completely redundant and pointless search bar that makes me mad. I carefully prune those "eight most commonly used links" and seeing them marginalized is really frustrating.
