We're getting closer to the point where owning any (print) media format of a story lets you own all (print) media versions of a story.

Brilliant. I divested myself of over a thousand fantasy and SF novels two years ago to make room for the unborn boy. I'd been collecting them since I was a young teenager. I'd have loved a low cost way of converting most of them to ebooks.
Also, if it takes off, expect a boom in used bookstores.
Glad you like the idea… we're working hard on getting publishers signed up for our launch in July… and we have several sci-fi publishers signed up. We're not allowed to say which ones yet. Stay tuned.
