Wrapping up season 9 and heading to season 10, is Supernatural the longest running 'genre' television program that's ever aired in the US?

"Stargate SG-1" had 10 seasons. Can't think of anything else that long-lasting.
Do the Power Rangers count? <grin> Apparently they had 21 years…
Well, in that case you end up with "Doctor Who" or "Star Trek" or any other similar franchise.
(Even if we consider just the "modern" "Doctor Who," it seems likely it will pass 10 years (handwaves episodes per year).)
Depending on the definition of "genre," "The Simpsons" has been running since 1989.
US series, is what I meant. Doctor Who's a gimme, otherwise.
I don't count the Star Trek IP collectively. Dunno if any of the individual series ran that long.
No, ST:TNG only went 7 seasons (plus movies), and that was the longest of the bunch.
