		<description>Why?  Because they&#039;re testing to see how far they can squeeze before all the authors give them the bird and jump ship.

It&#039;s stupid, but it&#039;s what publishers have historically when a &#039;new&#039; medium came up . . .seeing how much they can milk it before they lose it.  It won&#039;t work well this time though.  In the past they could at least count on the revenue from running the big printing presses even if they didn&#039;t own the rights to specific books/genres.  Strangely they don&#039;t own the means of production for electronic media.</description>
