Hmm. One of the best thing WoW has going for it — possibly the best thing — is the fact that the community provides the interface modifications that Blizzard doesn’t have time to (with 11 million subscribers, it’s a little hard to meet everyone’s customization desires).By forcing the add-in developers to drop donation buttons and 3rd-party ads on their websites, they’re going to cut their pool of ‘invisible developers’ by – I predict – a huge margin.
Will they feel the pain immediately? No. Will they feel it when they drop their next patch and no one bothers upgrading their add-ons to continue to function? Yeah.
